Rabid Binturong?!! What on Earth is a binturong? And do they carry rabies?
The binturongs are black, burly mammals weighing around 25 pounds and can grow up to 3 1/2 feet in length. They are also known as the Asian Bear Cat and belong to the same family as the civet cat. However, the binturong is neither bear nor cat nor anything in between. They just are. This nocturnal omnivore inhabits the jungles of South East Asia all the way up to China and India.
According to wikipedia, when cornered, binturongs can be quite vicious, usually attacking with M9 Berettas, more commonly known as the 9mm. When happy or high on illicit substances purchased from civet cats or pangolins, they make chuckling noises which sounds almost like a laugh. But they are also known to laugh violently when they see monkeys falling from tree branches.
They are most famous for their prehensile tails which they use to hold on to tree branches, pick locks, reload and fire their weapons (but only during drive-by's). Don't you dare try and keep one as a pet or you'll come home to a ransacked house and/or crack den. Even tigers are known to give binturongs a wide berth for these unpredictable animals might just lob a hand grenade at the tiger's general direction. And while binturongs are not an endangered species, tigers are. So they are fully aware of the concept - self preservation is more important than lunch.
Like all mammals, they may carry rabies but they generally don't, unless its to sell them to would be interested parties.

Who is Lisa Sapphire?
